Simple Alarm is a redesign concept for the stock iOS alarm clock app. Simple Alarm is designed to make it easier to quickly set an alarm, using simple interfaces and gestures.
When we're interacting with an alarm clock, we're looking to get in and out quickly. Maybe you're in bed. Maybe you're half asleep. Maybe you're at work, setting an alarm to remind you of something to do in a few hours. In any case, you've always got better things to do than fiddle with your iPhone's alarm clock.
The alarm clock is the perfect opportunity for design to get out of the way, in favor of something simple and elegant that works efficiently.
Here’s the main screen.
Recently used alarms are at the bottom; just tap one to turn it on or off. The add new alarm button has been moved front and center, rather than buried in the top right corner - tapping that brings you to the new alarm screen, shown next.
Spin around the clock to set the time....
Setting a new alarm uses a gesture similar to the iPod click wheel -- spinning the clock clockwise moves the clock forward, counterclockwise moves it backwards.
...and tap the center to set.
Done. The alarm is added to the main screen.
The alarm added to the main screen and is highlighted in green so you know it’s set.
